... setting up site access and site preferences

Oregon CIS delivers products and services online to licensed and registered sites, their staff, and students or clients. This restricted website is called Oregon CIS Online. Your use is governed by the CIS Online License Agreement. When your site registers for CIS Online, you must accept this agreement.

Each fall, organizations must renew their licenses by placing an order for the CIS product package that meets their student, client, or customer needs. Each new site must register to establish a user name and passwords and to sign up for the services they want to include.

Instructions for registering your site are part of an e-mail sent to the contact person designated on your order.  Only one registration per site is permitted. It is important, therefore, that CIS sites designate the CIS Site Coordinator to register for Oregon CIS Online and to oversee the dissemination of the information. This person might also handle the annual orders, oversee installation of the software, attend trainings, train other staff at the site, and communicate with CIS as needed.

The online registration form provides us with the following information about your site's preferences for CIS Online setup:

  1. CIS Online User Name and Password: These can be disseminated to the students and clients at your site so they can access the CIS Online tool kit for career planners. You are able to request a user name and password of your choice for your site.
  2. Site Coordinator Password: This password distinguishes the person as the administrator and provides access to various administrative functions. The Site Coordinator Password accesses the use reports and portfolio management tools for your site's CIS for Internet. It also enables the customizing of My CRLE Planner features.
  3. CIS for Internet Features: You can decide if you want to have the online assessment tools and the portfolio set up for your site. You will be asked if you want the Interest Profiler, the Work Importance Locator, SKILLS Assessment, IDEAS Assessment (available only if you have paid the additional license fee), and the Career Planning Portfolio activated.
  4. My CRLE Planner: My CRLE Planner has several unique features that require additional set up. You will be asked if you want to set up CRLE for your site (primarily requested by high schools).
  5. CIS Mailing Lists: CIS sites should have at least one person signed up for the CIS mailing list. It is used to provide technical support and service information. We do not use these lists extensively, but we do notify participants of any critical issues and provide important information during the license year.
  6. IP Address Recognition: Onsite computers can be recognized by the CIS security software through IP address recognition. User names and passwords are not required to access CIS when a computer or network's IP addresses are registered. You may request IP Address Recognition for onsite use and user names and passwords for remote access.

The form provides instructions throughout. Once it has been submitted to us, you will receive a response that confirms your access has been set up, usually within one working day. If your requested user name and password are already in use or are not consistent with the instructions given, we will inform you of the problem and provide different ones to you. You can request a change at any time.
